Can you imagine how strong can be water polluted by cigarette? Every day millions of people smoke, polluting air, throwing billions of cigarette butts on the ground. When it rains the butts are washed to savage and drainage water system, taking them to the seas and oceans. Fishes and some other water bodies can eat them by mistake and die! Dead bodies of fishes take years to decompose. And after that humanity start thinking "Why out seas are so polluted?" And this kind of indirect pollution is not the only one!
The next worst indirect but also concerning smoking problem is production of cigarettes! According to United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) In 2006 in average there was produced about 1000000000 (1 billion) cigarettes per day. From Paper made out of one tree, there can be produced 300 cigarettes. Each day humanity waste about 3.3 million trees only to pack cigarettes! Energy and water is also being waster to produce these cigarettes.
Figures analysis: According to "U.S. Bureau of Census' in 1950th the production scale reached 1,686 billion, in 50 years human being increased this figures to 5,662 billion. And this number is keeping rising! As you know in China air pollution is very high. China's population plays big role in pollution, as the population in China got almost 1.4000 billion (Data from World Bank, World Development Indicators) It is the biggest portion of earth's population. And China is the biggest producer of cigarettes. Per year, China produces about 1.79 Trillion cigarettes. And almost 99% is consumed inside of China. The next larges producer of cigarettes is United States with the figure of almost 500 billion/year, followed by Russia and Japan.
In conclusion i want so say that smoking causes tremendous deforestation while production. Kills 1/2 of smokers, shortens smokers life to 10 years while smoking. And after consumption it also keeps causing many problems to us.
Don't smoke and safe your life, add 10 years to your own life. Safe people around you, and safe this beautiful world for our future generation!
